There is no age limit when you take a nostalgic trip back to childhood on the switchback roundabout with its Venetian gondalas, exotic in gold and glitter and myriad colours. Robert Wolfe stars live in the Mighty Wurlitzer Show. And there's a programme of music too from Thursford's nine mechanical pipe organs. Old Farm buildings transformed into a mini-village with a touch of Charles Dickens' England, house the Thursford shops. The pantry/sweet shop has an enormous selection of good things on offer, many of them locally made. In the stable and corner shops there are gifts for all ages, records and cassettes of the Thursford music, and a picture Gallery. Time for refreshment? try a cream tea on the lawn, served from the garden conservatory. or a light snack under the fine timbers of the fine Norfolk barn. Or nearby, in a period-style ice-cream parlour, you can sample the home made ices. |
